EXPECTATIONS

The Everlasting is the first novel I have read from this author, enticed by the interesting plot surrounding time traveling through story pages. I was very interested in how the concept of time travel would work, and if our star-crossed loves would find their way to each other in the end.

STORY

The author transports the protagonists-and the reader-to and from the painful past and fleeting present, repeatedly experiencing inevitable heartbreak and loss. Her writing and narration are transformative, intensely transporting you into the hopes and dreams of the beloved protagonists. The story is well paced and solidly structured, no weak points or loose threads, with the revelation of how and why time travel is possible beautifully revealed in the end.

CHARACTERS

Owen Mallory and Una Everlasting are two beloved characters that you will unavoidably become attached to, their fierce loyalty and perseverance to fight the forces that separate them inspiring, commendable, and heart wrenching. After reading this novel, you will only hope to find a semblance, a fraction, of a love so all consuming and hopeful.
